Growing up I was always a chubby kid. I was always great in school at academics, but sports and athletics… Not so much. It wasn’t until college that I developed a passion for health and fitness. My sophomore year at UNI I took a personal wellness class that focused on aerobic cross-training. It was then that I realized I was ready to make a change in my life and I began to focus on my health and started losing weight. I began working out regularly and completely overhauled my diet and I ended up losing 75 pounds! I graduated from UNI in the spring of 2011 and joined the gym as soon as I moved back from Cedar Falls. Not only have I kept all of my weight off thanks to the gym, but I have learned so much more about nutrition and exercise and have become a much healthier person overall because of it. I began coaching in the fall of 2013 and absolutely love it! It’s unlike any other gym I’ve been a part of. The members are all fantastic and genuinely care about one another. Everyone wants everyone else to succeed and achieve their goals. It is an extremely positive environment and very motivational.
