After several years of hearing from friends about Mission Fitness I decided to check it out in July 2015. An avid runner, I knew the importance of strength training but tried workouts on my own and struggled to see the results. In the end my knees felt the pain and I needed to change my routine.
Simply put, the gym has been a big surprise and blessing. It didn’t take long for me to join and to see results. I had a lot of preconceived notions about group classes- crazy coaches, partners I can’t hang with, 2-hour classes and diet gimmicks. None of that is a part of Mission Fitness. The gym is welcoming, encouraging and designed for any fitness level or body type. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. We work them out, together, in a supportive way.
After my first week it didn’t take long for me to join and within the first year I was coaching (mostly early morning classes so some may say at that hour I turned into the ‘crazy coach’)! No two classes or days of the week are the same. The routines are fresh and challenging. Just ask the veterans. They get sore right along with the newbies. Everyone comes in with different goals but ultimately we arrive at the same conclusion- being strong in mind, body and spirit is the best thing no matter your size, shape or age.
